Boots!

I love this look, and unfortunately, it didn't come out the way I wanted it to. I look a little boyish :/ and the pics not as close as I wanted it to be...but the outfit itself is fabulous! The boots, however, are what really top it off. These boots by John Fluevog are just....I don't even have words for them. I fell in love with them upon first seeing them and knew I had to have them. It took some convincing, but I finally persuaded my mom to buy these for me (and they weren't cheap)! I also really love the shirt, the blazer is something I absolutely adore, and my hat is super comfortable. When I had long hair, this beanie looked great on me, but now I'm worried I look a little too tom-boyish. Oh well. The hat's comfortable, and this outfit is one of my favorites!

My New Outlook

As of late, I've been obsessing over a few items I wouldn't normally goggle over. In the past, my look has been girly. I'm talking florals, heels, and pink. But, although most of those outlooks haven't changed, my style has taken a turn for gothic. Lately I've been experimenting with black and white and a pop of color. My favorite shirts are a white wool long-sleeved shirt from Forever 21 and a hand-me-down white half crotchet sleeveless shirt from my mom. Both are awesome in their own way. Also, I've been loving my black Jolt jeggings and Steve Madden combats. And to top off the gothic look are a vintage Dian Von Furstenburg bag, a pair of Ozzy sunnies, and my grandmother's vintage cage necklace. Those, right now, are my favorite pieces that hang in my closet or on my body! Silver bangles have also shown dominance in my looks. So today, i thought, why not just put them all together? So i did, and may i say, the look was fabulous. But some items I have been seeing interest on are those 3/4 sheer, 1/4 black maxi skirts and black jeffrey campbell litas. My birthday is coming up, so i plan on using whatever money i get to buy such things. of course, on ebay. By the way, ebay is my new best friend. I figure, although it might not be perfect, if you're paying $30 instead of $300, its worth the money. everyone thinks I'm crazy and my mom is starting to worry, but i really am progressing in styles that are all around me. Also, i'd like to formally thanking my brother for taking the pictures that are going on this blog and my lookbook.nu account. My first look will be put on there because it's more artsy, but the second look showed everything I'm obsessed with, so that's on here too.

The Woes of a Thirteen-Year-Old Girl

Hey everybody! My name is Emma and I'm new to the world of blogging. Believe it or not, my mom got me started on this today. For today, yet again, came up the topic of college and careers. My mom isn't even the one who brings this stuff up-it's me! But today was different. My mom told me to start a blog of my own after I told her about sites I like to browse like lookbook.nu and such. Ever since I saw that site, I've wanted to become "famous" in terms of fashion blogging. This all relates to colleges and careers, however, because my life's dream (at the moment) is to be fashion editor of French Vogue. I am personally subscribed to Teen Vogue and intend on keeping it that way until I can graduate to THE Vogue. So here I am, starting my blog. Although I am just 13 years old, my mom has great taste in clothing and has raised (as she calls me) a "fashion monster". I get a lot of designer hand-me-downs (like Dian Von Furstenburg, Elie Tahari, and Cole Haan) from my mom and she has raised me to appreciate the finer things in life.....like designer clothes! I myself have a lot of Steve Madden, Juicy Couture, and DKNY clothing, but love shopping at places like Forever 21 and thrift shopping, which no one could ever get my mom to do. I'm extremely lucky to be born in the age of technological advancement and great fashion leaps and thank my lucky stars that I have access to sites like lookbook.nu where there are only good comments and constructive criticism and where FASHION MATTERS. In the small suburb I live in, I stick out like a sore thumb. I have short, cropped Justin Beiber flippy hair, wear crazy colored pants and blazers to school, and don't own anything that has "A&F" or "Aeropostale" plastered all over my butt. Instead of looking for that kind of clothing, I'm personally looking for a pair of high-waisted, printed pants. Like a trouser, almost. I have yet to find anything of my specifications yet, but there's still hope! I'm also scouring every shoe store I can get my hands on for a pair of high-heeled loafers. I found the perfect pair online, but nothing in the stores! These, my friends, are woes of me, Emma, a 13 year old girl. They could be a LOT worse, I know. But in the world of fashion, where something is in one day and out the next, a girl has always got to be on top of her game. Even if she's only 13.
